Text Neck Booklet
Text Neck began as a response to a brief to visually explain the word totalitarianism, defined as “a system of government that is centralised and dictatorial and requires complete subservience to the state.” I interpreted this through the lens of modern screen culture, exploring how technology quietly controls our posture, attention, and habits.
Originally conceived as a learning and app-based programme, the project shifted direction to become a physical, screen-free alternative—offering users a true break from digital devices. The final outcome is a small-format risograph-printed book, structured in a simple ABC learning format to gently re-teach the mind and body how to maintain healthy posture.
Inspired by hospital infographics like Communicard and the clarity of road signage, the book is designed to be unintimidating, accessible, and easy to digest. All illustrations were digitally created by me and printed in a bold two-tone primary colour palette.
Designed as a friendly, everyday presence in office spaces, Text Neck was featured by Before Breakfast, a London-based printing company that showcases inspiring creative work.
