Let’s Play - Collaborative Children's Concept
As part of a collaborative design project, I created 'Toolbox', a custom display font developed in FontLab, used as the branding for a children’s toy concept called Let’s Play.
The idea was developed in response to a brief to design a product for the children’s section at The Conran Shop. Drawing on shared skills in design and illustration, we created a concept that encourages imaginative, sustainable, and open-ended play.
Let’s Play is a flat-pack set of modular wooden houses and rooftops that can be stacked and arranged on top of everyday furniture, transforming the home into a playful landscape. It invites children to incorporate their existing toys, giving new purpose to objects that might otherwise be forgotten.
The concept aims to move away from mass-produced plastic toys, which often lack durability and creative engagement. Instead, Let’s Play encourages children to explore and invent using simple, tactile components that support longer-lasting, imaginative play.
The project also included research into learning-through-play design principles, as well as an animated visual to bring the idea to life.
